Kansai, planned around your family
Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Kobe all call to you, and you want one trip that feels calm.
Two regions pull at you, and a first trip only has room for one base.
Choose Kanto if you want variety, big museums and a Tokyo base with day trips. Choose Kansai if you want food, temples and an easy base for Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. For five to seven days, pick one region and do it well.
